ROOT OF THE WOMB

Root of the Womb is a collection that centers the Black woman as origin, guardian, and vessel. Through DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION, the works probe the mystery and power of feminine creation—examining the womb as site of lineage, memory, and transformation. Imagery moves between the visceral and the sacred: organic forms, ritual marks, and intimate portraits converge to honor motherhood, ancestral continuity, and the creative force that shapes bodies and worlds. The collection IS AN Offering OF layered, SOFT, and resilient representations that reclaim agency and place the Black female experience at the heart of origin stories. Root of the Womb invites viewers to witness, reflect, and be held within a portrait of WOMB, EARTH, AND WOMAN.
